Jerry Spinelli is one of my favorite authors. I picked this book up because I was thinking one of my football-playing students might like it. I ended up really liking it! This book definitely reminds me of Stargirl by Spinelli and I think actually that the theme of acceptance runs throughout most of his books. This book is about a boy how is pretty mean to a new kid who moves to his town and is different from him because he's a Quaker and doesn't believe in violence and doesn't eat meat. After seven years he finally realizes what's important in life.
