Over the summer we were talking about what to be for Halloween and Jordan thought about it and pointed at me and said, "You're gonna be Dora and I gonna be Diego!" I like to keep Halloween costumes on the downlow, but he was just so cute and I'm excited to be making his costume! A few weeks ago Jordan and I went to have breakfast at Caribou Coffee and then went shopping for the material for his Diego costume. I'm only making the vest, the rest of the outfit is pretty easy to just buy.
We had fun looking through all the pattern books. After my last project (the cape) I realized it would be a good idea to get a pattern. I like to think I can just make up my own pattern and hope it'll turn out, but it's way easier (and smarter) to have a pattern! Here are the pattern pieces pinned onto the fabric.
And here are all the pieces cut out! If you sew, don't you just love the feel of the fabric when it's two-pieces thick, plus the pattern and pinned up. I just love it. I hate to take the pins out of the fabric and to actually start putting it together. Right now I'm going to start working on the pockets. My cousin, Silvia, is helping me make the animal patch that Diego has. I'm very excited about this project!

Cute, cute, cute. I know what you mean about the cut out and still pinned fabric and patterns. I love the crinkle noise too. It's the sound of anticipation.
Jen- Seriously, where do you find the time to do everything? Are there 3 of you? Every time I read your blog, I don't know whether to be impressed, overwhelmed or insanely jealous! Jordan is one lucky boy!
YAy for sewing projects. I have to tell you I hate cutting out the patterns and pinning it all together. It takes so long, I just want to get sewing already! Can't wait to see the finished project.
